Painting & Sculpture

Corey S. Pressman waxed powder painting

Common colors and forms that convey the ineffable.

These works isolate and rearrange the hues, shapes, and relationships of shadows, stars, eyes, flowers, fences, alphabets, and all birds. These pieces report and transport; they are the map and the territory; they are the ticket and the treasure.

Waxed Powder Painting

My paintings use a unique “waxed powder” technique, wherein powder pigments are directly applied to paper or panels, then varnished with cold wax or encaustic medium. This process lends the works an evocative texture and glow.

Sculpture

I create three-dimensional work with a variety of materials including paper, cast bronze, wood, and ceramics. These artifacts represent a more tactile manifestation of my explorations.
